Music Video Final Draft

This is the final draft of the Music Video. I added an extra clip in the beginning with the artist name along side with the song name. As well as this, i added the production companies name. Also, i adjusted some of the clips on Final Cut Pro to make sure that the song lyrics and the lip syncing were in time with each other.

Poster Final Draft

This is the final draft of our poster which was edited by Kallum. We changed the picture and i feel as it is more suitable for our genre. The fact that it is blurry meets the codes and conventions of our genre.

This is the final draft of my Digipak edited by Jack. We added extra panels and another disk. We also included labels for the disks.

Poster

This is the first draft for my poster as part of the music video project. This was done by Kallum and just like Jacks' digipak, it took around 2-3 lessons. I feel as if it suits the artist and the genre of our music video. The colours match the theme of our music video and the genre of music, which is quiet edgy and Urban. The black is to represent our artists mood which was quit dull and sad throughout the video.

First draft of the digipak project edited by Jack. We decided it suited our artist and all the pictures in the digipak will be used in the video. Jack spent 2 - 3 lessons on this to ensure he got the best possible outcome.

Filming Day 5

On this day myself, Jack and Kallum went to the drama room after school and re filmed some of the footage we required to after some feedback from our first draft of our music video. We filmed scenes using one big light and all the surrounding lights in the room turned off. This was so we can keep in theme within the genre our music video is. We used a camera, light and tripod. We also took pictures for our poster after we finished filming. The reason as to why we decided to use this location is because our teacher suggested that we should use it as it looked good.

Filming Day 4

On this day, myself, Kallum and Jack went to Danson park to get improved footage from the feedback we had from our class after the first draft. The feedback included factors such as lack of narrative and camera angles. We filmed some close ups, medium shots and long shots. As well as this, we brought Rhys with us. The reason behind this was to get another mind to make comments on the shots we were taking. Rhys gave us advice and opinions on our footage throughout the day.

Filming Day 3

On Wednesday 7th March, myself,Jack and Kallum went to Camden Town to film some shots of DAZE for our music video. Jack took the roles of being in the video, costume, props, location and part director, Kallum took the role of cinematographer and I was helping around also taking part in directing some shots. As a group, we discovered that Camden truly suited our artist and we believe that the shots we took will look good in the final edit.
        

Filming Day 2

On Wednesday 7th, Jack and Kallum went to film some more shots for our music video. They went to Danson Park and filmed a variety of shots around the park. They included long shots, medium shots, close ups and pans in the pieces of footage we got. We plan to film at Camden Town and a location under a bridge in Welling when we are together next. The equipment that they used are as listed below. This was the first time Jack and Kallum went out to film and having looked at some of the footage, i believe that we may need to come again to improve our work

Filming Day 1

We started our filming journey on the 17th of January. Myself, Kallum and Jack used our school facilities and started to film within the corridors of the school. As well as this, Kallum filmed the same corridor, but this time without Jack in it. Jack proposed an idea so that we fade the shots in between and make it look nice. In addition, to this we also filmed the atrium when it was empty as well as filming it busy. We aim to fade in these two shots together as well. As it was our first filming day we were not so organised in getting our equipment and therefore we lost a bit of time. We are looking to improve this in the future.

Yesterday on the 22nd January, myself, Jack and Kallum went to Bexleyheath to buy some props and items of clothing that we intend to use in our music video for the song Heathens by Daze. We bought a green bomber jacket and a black jumper. This is because this is the outfit Daze will be wearing for the majority of the music video. This was planned before and we always wanted this outfit as it suited our artist. He wont be wearing the outfit for all of the video as we have change of locations throughout the music video and therefore he will also be wearing his school clothes.

Today, we decided as a group that Jack will be doing the digipak along side with Kallum. We all drew designs as to what we think will be best. The designs consists of pictures from our locations we are planning to go to. These are places like Camden and Danson park. We are also planning to use some shots from the dark room within our school. This is because it matches the same genre and has the same vibe as our music video.

What is a digipak?

A digipak is a patented style of CD or DVD packaging, and is a registered trademark of AGI Media.
The features of digipaks include;

• Gatefold like a book
• The outer packaging is made of card/paper and the inner packaging is made of plastic
• More vulnerable and likely to wear than average cases
• Was very popular with artists and record labels in the early 2000's

Front
The front of DigiPaks usually have a large, eye catching picture on them. As well as this, the picture on the front tend to have some relation with the song or artist. The album name is also found in the front of the Digipak.


Back
The back of the DigiPak doesn't contain a lot information and usually contains the name of the record label, the song titles and a picture that suits the theme of it.

Filming Schedule

This is the filming schedule that myself, Jack and Kallum have created and will aim to stick to throughout the next month or so. This is obviously subject to a change of plans with a member/s of the group, transport links and the weather since our music video requires cloudy forecasts and if say it was raining heavily that day we will be unable to film and will have to reschedule. This is for the week beginning the 15th January and this is subject to possible changes that might occur. We are planning to make the most out of our filming days. Going Camden is priority over anything as it is the furthest away from us and therefore it will take more time and effort filming

Animation

This is the animation that i had to edit on Adobe Premiere. As it is a new software, it took me a while to get used to simple cutting techniques and as editor i will look into improving my editing knowledge with Adobe premiere.
